Their menu is limited, but what they have is very tasty. When I go there I always get their hand cut French fries and a delicious milk shake. My friend goes for their cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato, which she loves. This is not a good place to go for a meal if you're a vegetarian or on a diet. I wish they offered a veggie hamburger.

Not exactly in and out, but close enough. Burger was good and fries were on point. Service was also fast and servers were nice. It's definitely a smaller joint, but its nice and clean

This was my first time coming and I was not disappointed. One of the best burgers I have ever had. They just added a chicken sandwich to the menu which was great too! The staff was really helpful and patient in helping me figure out what to order. The food came out quick and was amazing! Only negative was they put onions on after I asked for them off. I'll definitely be back

Modern burger place concept. Just burgers for entree food but good ones on potato rolls. Get double or bacon. Yummy fries.

HiWay Burger is CLEARLY a clone of "In-N-Out Burger" and honestly, the burgers, fries and drinks are almost as good as the California original. You can order a single, double, or triple hamburger or cheeseburger, french fries, shakes, and sodas and that is all they serve. The decor is minimalistic and the restaurant is pretty small (about 4-5 tables and 6 stools). A single cheeseburger is $3.45, double is $4.45, and triple is $5.45. Gee, I am really tempted to order a triple, but just went with a standard single. The burgers were very good, the fries were thin and fresh cut, and I am always happy with Diet Coke. This place is a great addition to Atlantic Avenue and a much cheaper alternative to Burgerfi and the Office.

Visiting the area and found them on Yelp. Good food and quick service. Burger had real good flavor. Will try a chili dog next time.

Cheaper than most places on the Avenue authentic old fashioned burgers and fries a nice air conditioned place and one of the few good deals near the Avenue you can have a snow cone for dessert for only 50 cents it is a local family favorite and there's never a line or at least not yet we like it better than burgerfi

Good, tasty, fast food burger, made with love by a friendly face behind the counter. I ordered the single Burger with cheese, pickle and tomato. I got exactly that. Love the simple menu, fast, and friendly service. What more can a girl ask for.

If you want some cheap, good food on the Ave, check this place out. The burgers are the bomb. I actually think it's the bun that makes it so good. Then there's the cheese fries, I love me some skinny fries with cheese (and ketchup). Yes, you must still eat those cheese fries with ketchup too. Those of you who disagree are crazy and seriously missing out!

If your in the mood for a cheap quick burger then this place is for you, i had the triple cheese burger, the patties were tiny and tasteless, and the process cheese was like goop running down a window , the only thing that saved this experience was the semi good customer service even though he didn't bother to ask me how i wanted my burger , the lemonade was fresh and refreshing ....other that onto the next burger stop ......

The Burgers are Fresh! The meat is never frozen. I really enjoyed my single with cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and pickles. This place knows how o make good burgers. The house spread is a thousand island sauce so make sure that you like that before you put it on your burger. The store was clean, the staff was friendly and the food was great. I will be back.

This is a great place for a quick meal. The hamburgers are juicy and perfectly cooked. My son ate the fries and pronounced them delicious. And the kids loved the shakes as well. Much better than going to Docs and having to eat outside in the 95 degree weather, without even the fans on overhead. This is a small place with great food in a nice and clean environment.

We were looking for a quick bite to eat while walking the Delray Affair. We also wanted seating and air conditioning. We found all of these at HiWay Burger. I loved my veggie burger and fries. My friend had a cheeseburger and liked it too. Some compare this to In-N-Out Burger but this is better, since they have veggie burgers too.

This restaurant is amazing. You might not be able to fit your 10 person squad in here, but the burger joint creates a priceless local atmosphere that is unparalleled by its competitors. The cashier was incredibly kind, talking to patrons and even saying 'bless you' after a customer sneezed. The food itself was spectacular, I got the Double HI Cheeseburger, and it was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The bun was soft and fresh, and the meat was well cooked. The burger left me feeling satisfied, but not horribly stuffed and gross . At some burger places, the other components of the burger are dwarfed by the overpowering meat and signature sauces, but at hi-way burger, every component was equally balanced. Another thing that sets hi-way burger apart from others is its veggie burger, an option not commonly seen on menus. An overall great restaurant with a spectacular atmosphere, would recommend to anyone looking for a good 5 dollar burger.

I really like this place. As close as we can on the East Coast to an In and Out Burger. The simple menu make ordering a no brainier with kids.

Huge fan of this place! Simple, no frills, but one of the most solid hamburgers in town! It really reminds me of the famed In and Out Burger from the west coast. There's so many good burger places around, but Hi-Way stands tall and proud for a really awesome quality fast food joint style burger!

Lip smacking yummy food that makes it hard not to need a napkin to wipe the juices off of your face. I had the Doubke Hi Cheeseburger and the Chilli cheese fries with added jalapeno. Only local comparison would be somewhat similar to burgerfi which is quite tastey also. Simple menu and typical price for an above average burger joint.

Hidden just off the downtown strip of Atlantic Ave & Federal Hwy, this little 24 seat burger joint is trying to stake claim to the explosion of burgers joints. Atlantic Ave is full of upscale dining and does lack the late-night bar-leaving food crowd, so I can see where this will for right in. Logo is similar. Colors are the same. Burgers are not. In-n-Out Burger has perfected it, now HiWay Burger in Delray is trying to copy its success. Simple menu! Single, double or triple. Topped with the basics but what I can't figure out is why is the "spread" just a thousand island dressing. When did that become the standard burger sauce? Thanks McDonalds but the Big Mac has ruined burger joint sauces. Challenge issued: Burger joints, try new things. Be creative. Entertain out taste buds! The meat is solid. Thin, flat top cooked patties smothers with cheese on each layer. Although I do love a cheese smothered burger! Fresh cut onion and lettuce on mine was a good compliment. The potato roll was soft and only 5 napkins later it helped create a sloppy good burger. Also, the fries are cut thin, and seasoned well with salt. Those, I must say, I'd be back for late-night after leaving the bars... Don't leave without a shake! Nothing but great success to the newest addition to the Downtown Delray family...

Good food but way overpriced. Nothing necessarily to complain about other than the price. The service was quick (not the most friendly) but the food was good.

Wow what a great burger joint. If your a fan of In and Out then you will be very happy with HiWay Burgers There sauce is called spread and they have grilled onions so its pretty close to having it "animal style" here's a little tip ask for some extra sauce and grilled onions on the side to top the fries with and your really getting close to the way they do things at In and Out

Folks compare HiWay Burger to In-N-Out but this place is no where near the operation of In-N-Out and certainly doesn't provide the variety of choices. That said, HiWay Burger is pretty good for a quick burger AND the only place in Delray Beach for this type of food in this price range. The menu is limited to fries, burgers and shakes but they have recently added a veggie burger. No choice for the cheeseburger -- american cheese only. Shakes are vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. I had the veggie burger which was okay, not great but my co-diners (one a true vegan) really seemed to enjoy it. The regular burgers were pretty good. The fries are outstanding. The shake was very good as well. As far as atmosphere -- we could have been sitting in a McDonalds. Red and orange decor. Clean, small but nothing unique to speak of -- maybe 6 - 8 booths. Service was a bit slow but everything is fresh so it was expected (FYI - ordering can be done online). The clerk was nice. She heard me excusing myself from the group to use the restroom and she met me there to unlock the door before I had to ask. Also, when ordering, there was no issue when we made a few adjustments. All in all, we have found a new, affordable burger place for a quick bite!

Visited about 30 minutes ago.. when I walked in one employee looked me straight in the eyes and didn't say one word. Not a hi how are you or anything. We then stood there for a good 4 mins in silence neither worker said one word. Eventually I said excuse me can someone please help me because I witnessed them talking behind the wall to each other not acknowledging we were even in there... A couple minutes after I asked for some help one boy comes up to the cash register and just stands there. I said never mind and walked out. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. I can't even review the food because I didn't have a chance to try it. I will make sure everyone knows not to come back here. Disappointing .

This place is pretty great, definitely recommend it. Small menu but everything they make comes out quick and is very tasty. Staff is very friendly. It's not directly on Atlantic so there's not usually as long of a wait as other places nearby.

3.5 When I drove by I immediately thought In-N-Out came to Delray. Atlantic Ave is now home of 3 legitimate burger spots; The Office, Burger Fi and now Hi-Way. Prices are very reasonable, the cheapest of the three. Menu is extremely simple. The burgers are good, on par with Burger Fi but your options are limited here. Their fries are pretty good too, shoestring style. It's a great little burger joint when you just want a burger with no nonsense. This should be a great late-night spot for Delray and should give the ever-declining Big Al's a run for it's money on corner.

Craving a great burger I decided to check this place out. I would give it 5 stars except I thought the fries were just okay, but then I'm not a huge fan of skinny fries. The burger was delicious, great flavor and juicy. I would definitely go back and skip the fries.

Close but not quite the same. I concur that it is an In-n-Out knock off. Right down to the colors scheme and the goofy hats worn by the employees. But if you blind-fold me, I will be able to tell the difference. Don't get me wrong, it's good. Just not In-n-out good! But it's the closest thing to it, that I have tried on the East Coast and I don't have to travel 3,000 miles to get it. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. Prices are higher than in California. Go figure.

Just visited Hiway Burgers for the 1st time. It was the Best burger I've had since moving to So. FL. I had the cheese burger and split some fries with my son. He ordered a 4x4 cheese burger and it was delicious! He actually finished his before I could finish mine. All items were fresh ingredients, the fries were great and a huge portion! Reminds me of Inn n Out in CA.

Great attempt at being In-N-Out, but they fall short of not only the popular west coast chain but also Five Guys. One thing this place has that is lacking from other "fast food" restaurants is pa-zaz. It's chrome and clean on the inside. If this store was a person it would be Johnny Bravo. I went double cheeseburger with extra spread lettuce and tomato, fries and a chocolate shake. The burger was solid. Tomato and lettuce were both very fresh and perfect. Cheese was melted like a dream and the bun....oh the bun was delish. The actual burger was good. Thin but not as tender or juicy as I would have liked. One shot isn't enough to make a definitive determination so I must have a follow up taste sometime in the future to confirm. But the burger meat (and milkshake) is really the reason why cant comfortably give 4 stars. The fries were da-bomb. firstly there's enough of them to feed a small family. they are thin cut, tender and not too crunchy, and have the perfect amount of salt. The shake was the other low point. I'm not sure if it's their "thing" or if the shake was made poorly. A slight gripe was the (kiddy) size of the cup but hey I'm watching calories (yeah I said it) so they probably did me a favor. The issue was the soft serve vanilla ice cream, little/no milk and a the light dose of barely mixed syrup. I can say this with confidence...best burger on Atlantic Ave.

Yes, this is definitely comparable to In-N-Out... the burgers are good, and the fries are thin and crispy. Not much on the menu but I like how it's simple. Place is really clean which makes me feel better about eating delicious greasy burgers. Definitely will be back.

We decided to try this place because my husband is a huge fan of In and Out. I'm no fan of beef burgers but decided to come along. The color scheme of this place is exactly like In and Out. It's very clean and small and there's only a temporary sign out front, so I guess they're still under construction. The staff is friendly and wears cute little hats. There are bowls of russet potatoes on the counter. The menu is very small and straightforward. You can get single, double or triple beef or cheeseburgers, sodas, shakes and fries. They will add pickles and grilled onions to your burger if you ask for it, and it comes standard with lettuce, tomato, onion and "spread" - which was really like a bland Russian dressing type deal. These burgers come one way: well done. It is a thin, griddled patty, cooked fresh when you order it. I had a regular hamburger and hubby had a cheeseburger with grilled onions. We had one order of fries, which is a huge portion and more than enough for two people unless you have an enormous appetite. The hamburger had a good beefy taste and was served on a toasted potato roll which was a little squishy from their spread, but I liked it. The fries were fresh and hot. Hubby liked it but said the fries from Five Guys are better and I have to agree, they are more potatoey. He said it was similar to In and Out but that In and Out was still better. HiWay Burger didn't knock our socks off but if you're in the area and want a burger I'd give it a try - it's a good value and the service is quick and pleasant.

I am known for my lengthy reviews. Not here. McDonalds on steroids...with burnt fries = not so cool. Please understand "burnt fries" doesnt mean they did it accidentally. You can tell that its pretty much their way of cooking them. they were not burned. they just had that burnt taste. Pass

Get at me with your soft cheeseburgers. Come come with your fries that taste like real potato.

Ordered online. I do not suggest this . I got there at exact time I requested to pick up, but my food was really cold. I asked for an another order that was hot and the counter girl had to call her supervisor for something that was obvious, I was patient and they replaced my order. Second time around it was hot and delicious. Fried are homemade that's about it though . Still good even though the milk shake wasn't hand scooped. They don't have heat lamps to keep food warm, this is why I don't suggest calling ahead.

A lot of comparisons to In-and-Out Burger on Yelp. I don't know if this place is trying to emulate them, but it's damn close. I like the simple menu, and when I'm in the mood for a burger but don't want something humongous and pricey, I love the cheeseburger all the way plus pickles and grilled onions for only 3 bucks and change. The fries are freshly cut, and they're great with cheese and grilled onions on 'em. The shakes rock too.

Very solid place. Burgers are high quality. Other reviewers mention similarities to In and Out Burger and this is accurate. Personally, I prefer Fatburger and Whataburger (the newer ones up in N FL) and HiWay is absolutely in their league. Tip...if you go with a friend, split the fries. HiWay should consider offering a smaller, cheaper french fry option for solo diners. There is only one size and it is $2.75. These guys also offer $.50 snow cones.

Almost like In-n-Out, except no customers. Good burgers and fries, but I've been there twice and each time was the only customer. Maybe they get better traffic on the weekend. I hope they make it, really like the burgers.
